Actually there are multiple versions of the book, so there is no clear answer to this question. One paperback version amazon lists at 960 pages. A hardback edition at amazon is listed at 1,040 pages. The first edition had 1037 pages.
It entirely depends on the printing. I know my grandmother used to refer to a 600 and some page version. Hope that at least gives a point of reference. Alica
Margaret Mitchell began writing Gone with the Wind in 1926. She showed it to Macmillian Publishers in 1935, who agreed to buy it only if she made numerous revisions and rewrites. She did so over a period of 6 months, fact-checking numerous historical details and rewriting Chapter 1 several times.
The novel was published in 1936, 10 years after Mitchell began writing it. It was an instant bestseller, and won both the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award in 1937.

Train, roll on, on down the line. Won't you, please, take me far away. Now I feel the wind blow outside my door. Means I'm, I'm leaving my woman at home. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Oh, my baby's gone with the wind. And I just don't know, oh, where I'm going. I just want to be left alone. Well, when this train ends I'll try again oh, but I'm leaving my woman at home. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind. My baby's gone with the wind. Train, roll on, Tuesday's gone. Train, roll on many miles from my home. See I'm, I'm riding my blues away, yeh. Tuesday, you see, she had to be free. Lord, but somehow I've got to carry on. Tuesday's gone with the wind. Tuesday's gone with the wind.
