How do you start a new game in Pokemon Diamond?

When you turn on your DS with Pokemon Diamond or Pearl in the DS game slot, select Pokemon Diamond or Pearl. When a picture of Dialga or Palkia shows up, press start and then select 'New Game'. To get your starter pokemon, talk to your rival by going to his house and then you will try to look for the Red Gyarados. Go to the lake and you will see Professor Rowen and Dawn. They will leave a suitcase behind. Walk up to it and press A. Two Starlys will fly at you and then the suitcase will open and you can chosse out of Piplup (who evolves into Prinplup then Empoleon), Turtwig (who evolves into Grotle then Torterra) or Chimchar (who evolves into Monferno then Inferape). gosensgo87 To start a new game in Pokemon Diamond, you must first delete the previously saved game data. To do this, you must press up (on the directional buttons), Select and the B button simultaneously. Remember that once you delete the saved data, it can never be restored. After you delete the previous game, select the 'new game' option. Of course, if you have not saved on that card before, just select the 'new game' option.

at the screen where it show the host Pokemon (i.e. Pokemon emerald rayquaza) press start select up it should say are u sure to delete all files or something like that
