It is possible that her daughter was named Janey or Maude. Calamity Jane apparently abandoned the little girl. There doesn't seem to be very much information at all about her. One story is that she was put in a convent as a child and basically disappeared. Calamity became orphaned at an early age and apparently didn't have the mothering skills to handle a child.

There are two possibilities of women who may have been Calamity Jane's daughter.

The most likely one is Maude Weir: The story is that Calamity Jane (Martha Jane Canary) gave Maude to a woman named Sadie Beck, who was believed to be Calamity Jane's sister. Sadie eventually gave Maude to Joe and Mary Weir who adopted Maude. Maude was taken to attend St. Martin's Catholic Academy where Calamity Jane visited her. Maude returned to the Weir's home in Pierre, South Dakota where Calamity Jane continued to visit her until Maude, embarrassed by her mother's drunkenness, told her to go away and not come back.

The other claim is Jean (Janey) Hickok McCormick: Jean claimed to be the daughter of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok. The story is that Hickok and Calamity Jane married, then divorced in 1875, so that Hickok could marry Agnes Lake. Captain O'Neil found Calamity Jane and newborn Jean in a cabin (probably in 1873, as that is Jean's birth date), cared for them until Jane recovered, then offered to adopt Jean. When Jean was a month old, Jane took her to Omaha, Nebraska to give her to the O'Neil's.
