In many libraries, they are placed under the reference section.
In libraries that use the Dewey Decimal system, they are placed in the 220 classification as part of the 200 section for religion. All religious books are normally placed in the non-fiction section. This includes The Bible and the scriptures of other religions.
The Bible is non-fiction, and although the Christians think everything in it is real, some disagree.
Fiction books in a library are normally stories and novels that are made up EG. Fantasy, sci-fi etc. They can be based on factual occurances or people EG. (Sharpe's books based around a character in the napoleonic wars)

While the Bible is generally found in the "Religion" or "Spirituality" sections along with the Dalai Lama's books on Buddhism, the Bhagavad Gita and others, friends in the book business report that books migrate throughout the store. Creationists move Darwin's Origin of Species from Science to Fiction or Humour, adamant atheists move the Bible to Fiction or Humour.
It's hard to categorize it in that manner because some of it is factual (archaeologically verifiable) and some of it is not provable.

The categorization of the Bible in a library is subjective and varies based on the library's policies. Some libraries may place it in the religion or reference section, recognizing its significance to many people. Others may classify it as literature or in a general non-fiction category. Ultimately, it is up to the discretion of the library administration.
the non-fiction.....but should be in the fiction :)
Depends on your beliefs, but I don't think anyone prays to Zeus or Ares anymore. Fiction. Just because you don't know anyone who prays to them doesn't make them fiction. They are in the non-fiction section of libraries, just like books about other religions. P.S. I work in a library and have never seen a bible or other modern religious text in that section.
Most libraries catalog all religious books under non-fiction, regardless of the religion, and thereby avoid sensitive issues of whether they constitute fiction.
Sometimes but not always and sometimes we can't be sure Example: We know Ramses II existed but we don't know if he was brother with Moses or if Moses was real.

of course not, none of the bible is fiction!
----------------------- Libraries classify the scriptures of all religions as 'non-fiction', without making a judgement as to their truth or otherwise. The Old Testament does contain many accounts that appear to be based on the earlier legends of other nations in the ancient Near East. Some of the supposed historic material in the Old Testament has come under scrutiny and scholars no longer accept it as necessarily true. References to God's intervention in the affairs of the Israelites are unprovable and unlikely to be true where the associated events are not actually historical. But the Old Testament also contains some material that is historically true, especially regarding the late monarchy and the Return from Exile.
No, Movies like the Da Vinci code are all based on fictional events. They are even located in the fiction section
