The figure given in cecil Woodham-Smith's 'The Great Hunger' is 14lbs per day EACH. It must be remembered that the average Irish person ate potatoes and nothing else. Up to 60 a day for a man.
During the 17th through the 19th centuries every square inch of Ireland was owned by some great landlord, either and Englishman or a wealthy Irish Protestant. The vast majority of productive agricultural land was given over to sheep farming or raising crops for export to England. The poor Catholic Irish had to make do with trying to raise food on marginally arable land. There was very little that would grow on the acres they had available to them. Potatoes are a hardy crop that will grow almost anywhere and produce abundantly. As a result potatoes became not merely a staple of the Irish diet but were often the only thing they had to eat. Thus they became known as potato eaters or potato people.
First of all, there are many Scottish accents that are very different to each other and there are also many Irish accents that are very different to each other. It would impossible and only a matter of opinion at to which of these many accents is the coolest, so there is no answer to the question.
Under the terms of the constitution of Ireland the President is elected by the Irish voters, unless all Political parties in the Irish House of Parliament (The Dail) agree on the candidate. This was the case with Mary Mc Aleese the current President of Ireland.
If one of your parents is from, say, Italy and the other is from Ireland, then you are of Italian and Irish descent. It can be said that you are half-Italian and half-Irish. Some people will call themselves part-this and part-that even if both parents were born in the United States.

A fist-sized potato for each person, or the equivalent in smaller potatoes.
You have to give a whole one each, then try to cut a fifth off of each of the 4 potatoes left, and give the small cut of each to the 5th person
=It all depends on whether or not the person likes potatoes, is allergic to potatoes or if the person eats potatoes every day.==If a typical Canadian ate one potato every single day, he or she would consume 365 potatoes in a non leap-year.=
The average person has five fingers on each hand.
1 large to 5 small sweet potatoes- on average 3 just like regular potatoes
It would depend on how much each potato weighs. On average, however, one average sized potato weighs about 375 grams. (See the question and answer concerning the average weight of a potato.) Assuming all of the potatoes are average sized as defined by commercial producers. Five pounds is about 2,267 grams. In that case, a 5 pound bag of potatoes should contain (on average) about 6 average sized potatoes and a 10 pound bag of potatoes should contain about 12 average sized potatoes.
I usually buy a pound a person. I sometimes end up with a few left over but this has always been a general rule here in Idaho. It depends on the the size of potato you get. The bigger the potatoes are the more pounds you need to buy. A large baker will usually be almost a pound each so you will need to buy more. If you are getting the smaller potatoes then the pound per person will work. Good Luck!!
I'd go with about 50 pounds of each that way each person could have a half pound serving.
To determine how many 10 lbs bags of potatoes are needed to feed 200 people, we first need to calculate the total weight of potatoes required. Assuming each person will consume around 0.5 lbs of potatoes, the total weight needed would be 200 people x 0.5 lbs/person = 100 lbs. Since each bag contains 10 lbs of potatoes, you would need 100 lbs / 10 lbs/bag = 10 bags of potatoes to feed 200 people.
The average person learns about 27% of information everyday.
You should assume that each person will eat roughly 2-3 potatoes. So when you do the math, you should purchase around 60-90 potatoes. Sometimes it's better to make extra potatoes than not enough. Happy cooking!
