He is not nessesarily "avoiding" you. He is just shy of you. You know how girls feel awkward around the guy they like and try to steer clear of them because they don't have the nerve to talk or associate with them? That's how guys are with girls. Boys aren't as weird as ya think sometimes. So try going up to that guy you think likes you and strike up a conversation.

2. It is usually because guys have to ask so many girls out just to get a date and the chance to win a girl over, that if he really! likes a girl, he might end up ignoring her because he doesn't want to mess up his chance by saying something wrong.
3. Keep in mind, most guys would walk right up to the girl he likes if we were allowed to. There are just so many rules that we have to follow so we don't scare the girl, or make her think we are creepy, or that we are not to nice, or that we are not to mean, etc., that most of us don't have a clue what to say to the girl we like because there are so many rules that we have to follow that we don't want to mess up.

It depends on what sort of guy he is. If he's the kind that doesn't care about his friend and only cares about having you all to himself then he won't avoid you, rather he will probably try to get you for himself. However, if he is loyal to his friend then he may avoid you in order to try and get over his feelings for you so he doesn't cause any undue hurt.
