It is used to treat people that have addiction problems. Naltrexone blocks the effects of drugs such as heroin, morphine, and codeine.
ALTHOUGH NALTREXONE IS AN OPIATE BLOCKER. CONSTANT USE OF THE DRUG WILL OVERRIDE THE NALTREXONE AND OVERDOSE IS POSSIBLE
No, naltrexone does not make urine opiate levels high. Instead, it is an opioid receptor antagonist that blocks the effects of opioids, including their detection in urine tests. When someone is taking naltrexone, it can lead to negative urine drug tests for opioids, as the drug prevents the typical effects and metabolism of opioids in the body.

yes
I guess you could but it would not be a pleasant experience. After taking Naltrexone your body will go into immediate full blown withdrawal symptoms. That is why it is recommended that the patient be Opiate free for 7 days before taking Naltrexone.
No there is a difference
simple answer.....never, if you're thinking naltrexone will get you high. If you mean "how long after you take the tablet, can you use an opioid and get the desired effect?" Then in that case, the naltrexone is in your system for 3 days, so on the 4th day on not taking naltrexone, you will get the effect from any opioid. I'm takin them ATM, but have only just started and am only taking half a tab per day, but I'm having bad side effects, so am trying to find out if by taking half, does that mean it's in my system for 1.5day (as a full tab lasts 3 days), but even my keyworkers don't know :( Hope that helps.

It is generally advised to avoid drinking alcohol while taking naltrexone, as this medication is designed to help reduce cravings for alcohol and block its pleasurable effects. Consuming alcohol can interfere with the effectiveness of naltrexone and may lead to increased cravings and relapse. Additionally, combining alcohol with naltrexone can increase the risk of side effects. Always consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice regarding alcohol consumption while on this medication.
