Well, if you don't take care of your body it will eventually break down...Lets compare it to a car. If you don't change the oil...give it gas, or clean it...what happens? It rusts, dies, and eventually doesn't work. That is the same with our bodies. We are made to care for them, and that we should! So, care for every inch, and you will yield the results.
it is important to take care of your body because you need to be healthy to live. you will not want to be like 500 lbs. in YOUR future. you will want to either have a good husband or a good wife and family. you won't want to get sick either.
There are many reasons to keep your body safe. First, you'll probably live longer (we all like to live, right?). Second, if you stay safe, you don't feel crappy (excuse my language) all the time. Third, it'll boost your self-esteem, help you have a more successful life, and get new friends (if you need them).
