what do you do
say hi back and wave to him. if hes alone go up and talk to him you could start a conversation. see what happens next.

he might like as a girlfriend, friend, or mabey hes just being friendly.
if theres an upcoming dance ask him what hes doing
like:
are you going to the dance?
if he says no ask him if he wants to hang out. it could lead to something
if he is ask him who hes going with(in a friendly way) if he says he doesnt have a date
just say o that sucks, or what a bummer.
dont ask him though, he could ask you, also dont stand there and wait for him to ask you he might not want to go with you.
