"While cocaine has been used for 5000 years, the actual alkaloid was first discovered (not invented) in 1850 by Albert Niemann."
This is in fact is true, but does not indicate that Nieman, was not, in fact the creator of this drug. He did, in fact, cultivate this drug and as a direct result of his tireless work made the drug regularly available to the masses in an attempt to serve the masses. Around the time it became illegal, it was also used as a sedative and a pain suppressive.
No, cocaine wasn't invented until the next century.
coca cola
You can't snort crack. I mean, I suppose you could try. But that's not how people do it. Regular cocaine can be snorted OR smoked, but crack cocaine is only smoked. It was actually invented to be an easier-to-smoke form of cocaine.
Crack cocaine was first synthesized by Dr. Robert Byck in the early 1980s. However, it is important to note that crack cocaine is a chemically altered form of cocaine and is not considered a new invention, but rather a variation of an existing drug.
No, very unlikely, Coca-Cola came 40 or 50 years before Pepsi when it was invented people didn't know the consequences of cocaine, and what it was it did. That's why Cocaine was removed from the Coke formula very early. EDIT: Incorrect. Pepsi was invented 7 years after Coke, in 1893.
Coke a cola was invented by Doctor John Pemberton it origanlly had the drug Coke and coke was counted as a medicine before poepl realized people could die from it and it became Illegal. (cocaine can break down people's Inhibition's & Behavior people using cocaine are often unfaithful to MORE.) Even though now there is no cocaine in coca cola they keep the name (The Coca cola company) :)
Crack cocaine was first developed in the early 1980s, with its popularity increasing throughout the decade. It is derived from powder cocaine but is processed using baking soda to create small rocks or chunks that can be smoked, leading to a faster and more intense high compared to powder cocaine.
It was invented in 1886 by Doctor John Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta Georgia. Up until 1903 Coca Cola used to contain actual cocaine.
Sometime in the late 1970s, somebody figured out that if you boil cocaine with baking soda and other household chemicals, it produces a rock-like substance that burns at a lower temperature than regular cocaine. This substance is "crack." Since crack burns at a lower temperature than regular cocaine, it is easier to smoke. And, since crack is essentially nothing more than diluted cocaine, it can be sold at a cheaper price than regular cocaine. The cheap price is what caused the crack epidemic in the 1980s, as people who normally would not have been able to afford the steep price of a cocaine addiction could now get high every day for cheap. That is, essentially, the reason it was invented: cocaine is expensive. A cheaper form of cocaine garners more customers. For example, say a cocaine dealer has 50 regular customers who buy from him every day, and 200 other customers who only buy from him once a month, because they can't afford to buy cocaine every day. Now, say the dealer starts selling crack cocaine, as well as regular cocaine. Now he has 50 customers who buy cocaine from him every day, and 200 other customers who now buy crack from him every day (instead of buying regular cocaine from him once a month).
The active chemical in cocaine is called cocaine hydrochloride.
Cocaine was removed from Coca-Cola in 1903. Before it was removed, it contained about 0.75 mg of cocaine per ounce. T It was removed due to increasing reports of adverse effects, such as stroke and cardiac arrests, which led to strict government controls. This is accordint to UpToDate which is a reliable source wirtten and used by doctors as well as medical students.
