Babies, kids, and teenagers are prone to ear / throat infections, often caused by the bacteria Strep. You MUST see a doctor so you can get started on an antibiotic IF the doc thinks it is Strep. Strep throat can be contagious to other people because it is a respiratory infection. If you are a minor, tell your parents so they can take you to the doctor.
Avoid drinking milk; it just causes more phlegm in your throat. Switch to tea or even sip warm water. If you are nauseated or vomiting, switch to dry toast or crackers along with your tea. Or sip on Ginger Ale.
Over the counter medications will not cure Strep throat. You can use cough drops to soothe your throat, but you need to see a doctor.

∙ 8y agoYes you need to see a doc but before that i would suggest you not to eat anything heavy, just eat light and drink some tea with ginger in it, ginger and lemon are good for your health.
