Swishing with salt water frequently is the more natural way to get rid of a canker sore. If you want a faster way to get rid of your canker sore then you can try using the medicine they make for them. Also try using some peroxide. The medicine is Canker-X made by G.U.M, Kankra, and poroxile. There is also other brands you can buy such as Orajel. The medicine comes in a spray, a gel, and a paste. The medicine will numb your canker sore. Some will even help to heal it. All of the medicines that I have tried work very well for me. I highly suggest using them.
I get these all the time and have many remedies that have worked for me.. The simplest on is to just put some ice to numb the or reduce swelling if you have any. I also think mouth wash immensely reduces pain. You can also try a mixture baking powder and salt(2 parts baking powder to 1 part salt) then add some water or mouthwash until it becomes a paste texture. You can then apply this with a cotton swab. This stings for a little but is totally worth it .Let the mixture sit in your mouth for about one minute. Then wash out your mouth thoroughly with water( be sure you do not swallow any of the paste) Try not to eat or drink for about 10 minutes. I have found that that works very well and not only numbs the pain but also put a kind of sealant over the sore to protect it from food or drinks that can be very painful. When you have a canker sore it is important to keep your teeth clean by brushing them at least twice a day. I heard that a wet black tea bag can help soothe the pain. I tried it out but didn't have much success, but you can give it a shot. Sometimes the best cure are the store bought medicines such as Zilactin-B that cover the sore from food drink and make it so it doesn't hurt as much if you bump it with your teeth or tongue.. i found these very effective. There are other medicines such as Ora-gel that simply numb the sore for a short time. If you have reoccurring canker sores it may be because of a B-12 deficiency and you can easily get some vitamin supplements ...I hope this helps:)

the best way to get rid of a canker sore is to gargle with salt or just use a q-tip and spread it directly on the canker sore.IT WILL HURT.but it works like heck.if you just cant handle the pain of it, use a herbal tea DONT sweeten it just gargle with it.like golden seal or somthing.ok?dont eat spicy food while you have it,dont eat chips, crackers cookies,ANYTHING crunchy is off limits.dont eat sugar-soda, candy donuts, cake, the usual.KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN. ok heres some tips to help prevent it.go outside often so you can get your vitamin b12.dont brush you teeth hard because the rips and damages can cause bacteria to grow inside of them, and that will make it worse.keep your mouth clean because bacteria is the most common cause, this condition is serious and the pain hurts so badly some people cant even talk with it,most cant eat.hope these tips work for ya.

They will go away by themselves within 4-14 days. To lessen the pain you can buy gel (e.g. bonjela) or special mouthwash (e.g. colgate peroxyl, oraldene). Gargling with extremely salty water is also supposed to help.
