If it is bright red it is more likely from the rectum and most likely hemorrhoids. If it is a darker maroon or black it would b from higher in your GI tract and u should seek medical attention. Hemrroids are blood vessels that have become enlarged most often from the pressure of constipation but can be caused by other things like childbirth. They are usually not a concern unless painful
