Sugar is typically filtered out by the kidneys and reabsorbed into the bloodstream through specialized transport proteins. In healthy individuals, very little sugar is present in the urine, as the kidneys work to maintain stable blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels are high, such as in diabetes, the kidneys may not be able to reabsorb all the sugar, leading to its presence in the urine.

Sugar in the urine can be a sign of diabetes, where the body cannot efficiently utilize sugar as fuel, leading to excess sugar in the blood that then gets filtered into the urine. Other causes can include gestational diabetes, certain medications, kidney disease, or hormonal imbalances. It is important to consult a healthcare provider for proper evaluation and diagnosis.
i have experienced personally that even few tablets of magnesia phos 6x can cause yellow to yellow green urine which were previously pale.
It is a possibile especially the sugar-free. I had been drinking 3-5 sugar-free and regular energy drinks per day and was getting up at night to urinate too often. Then I thought I had a uti, went to doctor had a UA no infection but blood in urine for no apparent reason. So I quit drinking the drinks for a few days, the blood started decreasing. today I drank 1 sugar-free and noticed more blood in urine. Soooooo I am going to quit them and find out, but I do believe energy drinks can cause urine in the blood.... I do love to drink them though!
