Coca Cola is probably not particularly good for a sore throat unless it is sore from being dehydrated, in which case the Cola may sooth the throat, although water would probably be more effective. More often, a sore throat is the result of a virus, inflammation, infection, or irritation that will not benefit from drinking Coca Cola. On the other hand, the sugar and caffeine in the Coca Cola may make the individual feel somewhat more alert and energized so that they are not so bothered by the sore throat.

No! Warm drinks, tend to help. Try coffee or tea, and if you do drink soda, drink Ginger Ale, and stir it up so the bubbles mix out.
