Boogers are dried up bits of mucus. Mucus is a fluid created in the sinuses and nose that protects our bodies from dirt and dust that would otherwise harm our lungs.

Also, you have boogers because it is dead bacteria after a diesease/infection/sore/etc. It cleans out and it helps clean up your body.
