I would say to the fat tissue at least for stitches. If it is any shallower it can be closed with glue or steri strips.
It depends on how deep and bad the cut it is the cut has to penetrate skin and if it is bleeding alot and a bandaid wont help at all or anything like that then it will need stitches
crazy glue it
Most cuts will not need any sort of treatment, but will need to be cleaned. If your dad's finger is quite deep, I would take him by the emergency to get check out.
Only a few millimeters like between, 2 to 5mm deep, not too deep. (Obviously if it's deeper than that you will need stitches and it will almost always scar then) Any cut will scar if you pick at it though
Your brain. Your hands. And useful items that are available.
If it is seriously bad you can still go to the doctor to get stitches they will recut it open and stitch it up
depending on the cut
Yes, if the cut is deep enough to require stitches, or you think there may be a developing infection.
A deep cut according to the medical industry is generally defined as one requiring suturing. Traditional stitches, staples, or liquid stitches may be used to close the wound until it can heal together on its own.
A sort of novacaine
You either need stitches or you need to use a butterfly bandage
Sometimes the dissolvable stitches takes longer to dissolve. If it is external and accessible, just cut it and remove it. Deep sutures can be left and will eventually dissolve. If it causes recurrent problems with infection, the wound can be explored and stitches removed.
Generally, an infection causes swelling and eventually deterioration of tissue, both of these cause pain. Some stitches are black, depending on the type sutures the doctor uses. Hoever, if you have received stitches that were NOT black suturing material you should call the doctor's off and talk to them. You may need a followup appointment prior to the stitches being removed.
