it's an ingrown toenail
Unless there has been significant damage to the nail root... yes.
When the corner of a toenail grows into the flesh of the nail bed, it is called an ingrown toenail. This condition can cause pain, swelling, and sometimes infection in the affected area. Ingrown toenails are often caused by improper nail trimming, tight footwear, or natural nail shape. Treatment may involve proper nail care, soaking, or, in severe cases, a minor surgical procedure.
Toenail fungus usually appears as discoloration of the nail, with yellow or white spots, thickening of the nail, brittle texture, and a distorted shape. In more severe cases, the nail may become crumbly or separate from the nail bed. It can also cause a foul odor and pain.
It usually means that the toenail has been damaged at some earlier time, usually by an accidental hit to the nail.
I have no idea. I have the same problem. I has a toe nail avulsion and nail removed and now gauze is stuck to the nail bed. I cant get the gauze removed even after extensive warm salt water soaking. I guess the answer is soaking and waiting for the nail bed to heal. I am so confused.
Onycholysis is the separation or loosening of a fingernail or toenail from its nail bed. Loosening of the nails, beginning at the free border, and usually incomplete.
A dark toenail is just a dirty toenail.
The word toenail is a compound word. The words are toe and nail.

Yes, a toe nail can grow back if it falls off twice, but it depends on the damage done to the nail bed. It make take longer to grow back after falling off twice.
