VapoRub's active ingredients include camphor, eucalyptus oil and menthol. Inactive ingredients include cedarleaf oil, nutmeg oil, petrolatum, thymol and turpentine oil. The ointment is generally safe when used as directed, but Allergies or misuse of VapoRub can cause potentially serious side effects. VapoRub should never be ingested, since the ingredients -- especially camphor -- can be toxic.
No person or animal should ever eat Vick's Vapor Rub. This is because the main ingredient is camphor. Camphor can cause coma or death if it is ingested.
Very interesting question. Well, I personally do not have those cravings, but if you do, then maybe they are attributable to the tantalizing scent of Vick's Vaporub. However, it would be inadvisable to actually taste the Vaporub. . . I have a strong feeling it is not meant for tasty consumption.
Why don't you eat some and let us know....
Vicks VapoRub was created in 1905.
Vic ointment may refer to the ointment Vicks VapoRub. VapoRub is a cream that can help you with your congestion when you have a cold.
Yes it will
no, they is not alike because te is not brother or sister
You should not do that. That is not how Vaporub should be used and you could cause yourself more problems if the ingredients make their way to your lungs. The product is designed to be rubbed on your skin (chest & neck) where body warmth releases the camphor, eucalyptus and menthol vapors to ease coughs and congestion.
Usually, so it doesn't rub off on your sheets.
Used for what? The active ingredients in VapoRub all have a strong, distinctive aroma. If it still has the characteristic odor, it should still work. If it smells rancid or insipid, then it's no good. I'd be considerably more cautious if you're eating it than if you're just rubbing it on your chest or something.
You can try to eat something really spicy, such as a raw chilli, Tabasco sauce, mustard, horseradish, or a raw onion. This does definitely clear a stuffy nose, but can be slightly unpleasant. Alternatively, fill a bowl with boiling water, add some Vicks vaporub or eucalyptus oil, and place your head over the bowl, with a towel covering your head to inhale the steam (being very careful about the hot water). Alternatively, try a combination of Olbas inhalers and Vicks vaporub applied topically.
Boil or heat a liquid or ice cube or water and you get a vapor. Heat a medication such as Vicks Vaporub and you get a medicated vapor.
