In the laboratory of popular experience, many people are indeed addicted to marijuana psychologically. Great numbers of people smoke marijuana regularly, even daily, have done so for long periods of time, and have been unable to quit. This is addiction. Keep in mind that the chemical cycle of addiction for nicotine runs its course in a matter of days, certainly within weeks, yet smoking tobacco is obviously addictive. People have great difficulty quitting marijuana, so it is misleading to suggest that marijuana is not addictive, especially with so many chronic users. The laboratory of popular experience tells this is the case.

The answer given below this paragraph is based upon personal opinion. However, I am not writing over it since everyone's voice deserves to be heard. Never-the-less, THC is not, in and of itself, particularly addictive. Cannabis ranks under caffeine on the addiction scale, way below nicotine or alcohol. Behavior patterns, on the other hand, can become habitual, and some habits can be difficult (though not impossible) to break. So it would be fair to say that one can become habituated to cannabis. However, the quantity of THC in cannabis is irrelevant.
