I had a flareon, but i hated it and trained my charmander forty levels instead. Individual Pokemon strength. My butterfree is very weak; I had to train it more than any other Pokemon. Your team doesn't have to look like this, either. You could probably get rid of the articuno and add some other badass Pokemon like haunter, just to be cool, or you could just have an onyx instead of a graveler. its really just important that you are pretty versatile, as trainers go. Having a high level Pokemon that knows a move that puts other Pokemon to sleep can be incredibly useful too. I have one stipulation: Get a Blastoise. They're the best.
