I think she’s lesbian because she really likes Misa. The creators agreed she liked Misa, but in the second movie Rem says that (s)he doesn’t have an gender. But it seems she is a female in the web.
Conclusion: She is Lesbian, or bisexual.

Actually, Obata (the creator) said that Rem 'inherited' Gelus' love for Misa, so therefore....Rem is in love with Misa, which would most likely mean she is either bisexual or a lesbian.

I Feel like rem is either bisexual or a lesbian. Since the creaters of Death Note did say, and i quote "Rem really cared and liked Misa" and Rem said that she would die for misa. Then she did by writing L's real name in the death note because he was going to hurt Amane or worse.

I think Rem really likes Misa in a romantic and she is either a bisexual or a lesbian however (S)he dosent have a gender. But I am not sure of this info so I think she is a female and most likely to be a lesbian.

Why did L die in Death Note?
Rem kills L because she loves Misa so much that she feels like a mother to her. Light blackmailed Rem to write L's real name in the note book, the only way to kill L *most important thing to Light* and save Misa(most important thing to Rem). Light's plan works and for him it's like hitting two birds with one stone. Both L and Rem, not to mention Watari died who were the biggest obstacles to him. I would like to point out that i have watched death note and death note 2 and Rem doesnt kill him (OMFG Rem is a girl ?!) Rem was not blackmailed by Light as Rem can just right down Lights name and kill him like Ryuk does at the end because Light goes syco :/. He writes his own name down for 4weeks later so that he cannot be killed until then. I LOVE L!
