In the end what happened to Serena and the clergy in pirates of the Caribbean stranger tides?

i don't really know, but these are some of the answers that my friends and I came up with:
- Philip dies from his wound, and Serena takes him away (to bury him?)
- Serena takes Philip away to heal him (like she said she could)
- Serena turns him into a merman! (i know, kind of out there)
- (my least favorite answer) Serena was tricking him all along and takes him away to EAT him!
in my opinion, I think it is the first suggestion (but i hope not)

they don't clearly say you see the mermaid and missionary kiss and swim off together but they don't exactly say what happened to them i guess most people assume they get married and live happily ever after and trust me i would LOVE to believe that as well but it mite not work out that way it is also safe to assume that she or one of the other mermaids killed him i mean she is the only mermaid that liked him one of the others probably ate the missionary or he drowned how could he possibly have gotten the ability to breathe under water you see while i would LOVE to believe in the story book ending the mermaid and missionary in love growing old together it is not in the least bit likely sorry :(

What I assumed happened is that he kissed her and can now live with her underwater and she can heal his wound. He may or may not become a "merman" because also in the movie they say all mermaids are female, but this could be because no man has even been fallen in love with instead of eaten. Another theory is that instead of living underwater Philip and Serena swim to the land that the fountain of youth was on and they live there together. This is possible because Serena popped up there with the chalices after Philip releases her. But my main guess is that the writers are simply wanting us to wonder until the next one comes out.
