I can answer this for Windows and Mac: Windows: Find your Minecraft folder (search: %appdata%\minecraft) and delete the folder named "bin". Re-open Minecraft and it will re-download the bin, fixing it. Mac: In Finder, go to your Hard drive (the silver rectangle that is named "HardDrive", users, your user name, library, Application Support, Minecraft, and delete your "bin" folder. Re-open your client and it will re-download the bin, fixing it.
I have windows but this should work on Mac. I drag one file into the other file you right click and hit rename to name it My Minecraft Mods or whatever you wanna call it.

you go to the users folder, then go into your folder, then go to library then application support and then minecraft
I believe it's as simple as dragging it to the single player saves folder. Back it up first. For Windows, .mincraft /saves folder. For Mac, Application Support/minecraft/saves folder.
You simply download it for $27 at Minecraft.net.

The server properties generate when a Minecraft server is first run in whatever folder it was initiated in, even the desktop, though it is recommended you run it in it's own folder to avoid clutter. The serverproperties file can be acesses on a mac by dragging it into the TextEdit icon in the dock or applications folder on a Mac, and can be opened on a PC normally.

Download it. Extract it with a .zip opener. Then, go to your Minecraft saves folder (PC: %appdata% MAC: ~Library) and drag it in the "saves" folder. Make sure the world folder you downloaded contains a few things such as: level.dat and a data folder. That means it is the world folder, not the folder that you unzipped which includes the world folder. You should have the map in your single player worlds.
