Here's a list of drop locations. (Even though this is a very "noobie" question. In Camelot, in Al Kharid (in the desert mine), and in the Karamja Dungeon Another reply: Let me add that it really isn't worthwhile to look for free fire runes. They currently cost 5 coins on the Grand Exchange - and for things where you need lots of fire runes (such as High Alchemy), you can use a fire staff to save some fire runes. If you go picking up free fire runes in Al Kharid, for example, you will probably get a value of a few hundred coins per hour, at most. Better do something more profitable - for example, mine clay, sell it, and use the money to buy the fire runes you require. A single trip to the clay mine will get you about 4K, at current prices. There is a good clay mine south-west of Varrock - almost exactly south of the Grand Exchange.
