Don't count on it. Console manufacturers use a practice called regional lockout, used to prevent the playing of media designed for a device from the country where it is marketed on the version of the same device marketed in Another Country. So unless you've modded your PS3 to play Japanese discs, it won't work.
And no, I don't know how to mod your PS3.
