This is wrong, PS1 and 2 are not region free on games, for a UK system you must have a PAL formatted disc for it to play, American and canadiam disc and consoles are formatted differently therefor you will not be able to play them.
The PS3 however, sony decided to make region free games but it is still region locked on DVD's.
