Flying stones are like master balls except for evolving Pokemon, you can use it on any Pokemon instead of leveling, other stones, friendship ect. Pokemon like tyrogue will still evolve depending on their stats. The most widely used method for flying stones is evolving a phione to a manaphy.
Why are there No PURE flying type Only Pokemon?
In generation V, there is only 1 pure flying type Pokemon which is Tornadus. It is one of the the Legendary Forces of Nature Trio Pokemon. The other two pokemon are Thundurus (Electric/Flying) and Landorus (Ground/Flying). They all have two forms, Incarnate Forme and Therian Forme. Tornadus' Therian form is based off from a bird, Thundurus' is based off from a mythical serpentine, and Landorus is based off from a beast.

pretty good try not to have the same type of Pokemon though... So I would get rid of garcchomp because salamance can learn ground moves also you just have to buy them and he can learn fly and other flying moves!
