you have to extract the files 1. go on a website like modthesims2.com , xmsims.com , peggysims.com and loook for a download you want 2. Once you find one press download... BUT REMEMBER if it has a mesh you MUST download that first whether you like it or not!!! ** you download the mesh the same way** 3. After you press download, something should pop up. Click save NOT OPEN!!! then another thing will show up and then you click save AGAIN! 4. once again, something else will pop up and then you want to press open folder. IT should bring you to the Sims 2 folder but if not... go to start, click on documents, go under the EA games folder, then click on the sims 2... you should have a downloads folder but if you don't, just add one. If you do have one, your download should be in there already. If you don't, it will be under the Sims 2 folder randomly placed... if you didn't have a download folder, just cut, NOT COPY the download and put it into your new folder and open the folder. paste the download into the downloads folder... now you have your download in your folder. 5. right click on your download under your sims 2 download folder and click extract files... then something will pop up and you will click ok or yes ( depends on your computer) then something will pop up, exit out of that then press delete enter and it should show up on your sims 2 game. BTW, this is only for ZIP files, if you want to downlosd a RAR file, go on this link http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Compression_and_Zip_File_Utilities/WinRAR_Download.html download it and do the same steps for the RAR file HOPE THIS HELPED AND REPLY IF IT DIDN'T!!! Real Sims 2 custom content must be installed. as an add in to the game. when you download the file the icon should be a dark blue circle with a light blue person inside it. You must execute this file just like an installation file to add the content into the game.
