The PS3's power indicator blinks when you turn off the system to tell you it's shutting off. As you probably know, the blue light indicates that a disc is in the drive and the red light is when the PS3 is off and in standby mode.
A constant green blinking light could mean some problem occurred and it is taking longer than normal to shut off, if it doesn't turn off, hold the front power button down for 10 seconds to turn it off. You may then have to turn the PS3 on again with the same button as the PS button on the controller may not turn it back on.
nice video on the yellow light hope it helps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn89z_VUcP0
it means the connection on your ps3 is low or even if its high it hasn't picked it up properly yet if you wait a while it will sign you in if it doesn't it means there is a problem with your ps3 connection if it still says it in about 3 weeks it means your ps3 could be starting to overheat like my ps3 it will later on get the flashing red light so to prevent this TAKE YOUR DISC OUT OF THE PS3 WHEN DONE!!!!
The answer from what is YLOD has been added to this question in it's entirety. Basically the PS3 YLOD is a hardware fault on the motherboard, sony claim that there is no single reason behind yellow light of death but as a rule this is due to the cheap solder that sony use. When your PlayStation has been on for prolonged periods of time it will reach high temperatures causing the solder on the motherboard to melt, as it cools (when you turn it off) it cracks causing a faulty connection. The term YLOD stands for yellow light of death, after this has happened to your PlayStation any attempt to turn it on will result in it beeping and flashing from green to yellow and finally flashing red.
go into register bluetooth device start scanning on head set hold down volume up an mute bottons until light starts flashing it should apear on ps3 code is 0000
Try using the connection cable that came with the PS3 and then press the Playstation emblem on the controller
A flashing amber light means approach the lock at a safe speed and under full control.
If they have a green flashing light on top of their car, then they are a Doctor, and have as much priority as a regular emergency vehicle.

A flashing green light on the AC switch of the 2001 Montero indicates there is a situation that requires attention within the cooling system. The issue could be as minor as a loose connection to an outright system failure.
They say that one way to determine whether is a green light is "stale" is by the flashing pedestrian "do not walk" sign. Not all intersections even have a walk or do not walk sign. Also, I have driven through intersections with flashing do not walk signs and the light remained green. The previous answer was a poor one.
Have a similar problem with my forester 1999.
