Why does isaac in dead space have a weird suit when the others do not?

To make him less vulnerable to alle the monsters, he'll meet in space
after all he's doing all the missions, and not his teamates
because Issac is a engineer so he needs the suit so that he is protected from machinery and so he is safe when he is out in space fixing the ship and it offers a little it of protection from things because they didn't know there were necromorphers on the ship the just knew something was wrong on the ship but not what was wrong.
