Perhaps video games are a representation of life. Video games represent a world in which you must identify those who are out to get you and kill them all. You must pick up as many "points" along the way as you can. In our most base, primitive nature, is life not the same? Perhaps "points" represent good grades you get or girls you get with or sports games you win. Man must get out his instinct to fight and go to war, but in this age, man is warned about the dangers and the hell of wars and fighting in general. So what better way to get out this instinct but in a simulation of life rather than in life itself?

For some people, video games go beyond just entertainment. they can serve many purposes. for some, it can be treated as a sports team. many games have tournaments or leagues that many people compete in. some play specific games because they are very artistic. there are a lot of reasons to play video games.
