Mages are meant to be "glass cannons". Meaning, they do a heck of a lot of damage, but are easily taken out. They really shine in dungeons and raids where they can sit back and do their magic while the tank keeps the mobs busy. In PVP, frost spec'd mages do alittle less damage, but survive a lot better with the slows and Ice Barrier.

There are many opinions on this subject. First of all, is the hydrowire autobot or decepticon? Scientists agree that most hydrowire will only give you a buzzkill, but most hydrowire is mainly used in world of warcraft. On the sky warlock level, if you are a level 51 elf-mage, the hydrowire is relatively easy to defeat with the sword of Asrath. I personally have never encountered or acquired the hydrowire or sword of Asrath, but my friend, World of Warcraft name "Glitch God 3000" and he is a level 200 flyinG troll, has glitched to get both of these and no, the hydrowire did not kill him. But, he had the Sword of Asrath and the shield of Asgard so if you don't glitch I don't know if you will survive a hydrowire encounter. Yes, you will die.
