There are lot of rumors for 2012 or 2013 release date. I'm sure if there's a community of people desiring it, then Sega will resurrect the Dreamcast. If Sega releases Shenmue 3, on the Xbox 360/PS3 or XBLA/PSN, I believe there will not be a Dreamcast 2 anytime soon. So they switched to making games and phased out the console for the Dreamcast. The games they create are made primarily for the other game consoles. The Japanese market may still be open to game production for Segas Dreamcast.
