It depends on which Nintendo console you are referring to. Nintendo 3DS games can only be played on the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo 2DS. All other Nintendo consoles including the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi cannot play Nintendo 3DS games.

well the Select button on the Nintendo ds is near the start button the select button is either beside it or underneath it When you open the DS and hold it in playing position, you'll see two small buttons in the bottom right of the lower half. One is the start button, the other is the select button.
