if you live in the United States, go NTSC. for Europe and most of the rest of the world, PAL. It will most likely not work with your television with the wrong version. Do a wikipedia search for PAL and NTSC. Therein the answer lies.
no it doesnt, if you buy your wii in usa can only play ntsc and vise versa. Answer 2 - Actually, PAL users do NOT have trouble with PAL OR NTSC because they can handle both types of video formats. NTSC (USA and Canada) can sometimes get away with it at a 3x speed. (This obviously requires a wiikey chip and a speed setup) Try looking at http://intendo.wordpress.com/2007/02/28/trick-you-pal-wii-to-play-ntsc-gnc-games/ Answer 3: It sure can. I have a NTSC wii and I play PAL games on it. You need to look up bannerbomb (if they don't censer that out) and then truchabug (make sure you read/watch a tutorial on this one), then cIOS and then NeoGamma or USBLoaderGX. BTW I am telling you to mod your wii. It sounds like a lot, but it'll only take about 10 mins. I don't know of any other way to do this right out of the box. and this process is FREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't recommend you mess with it to much. Crashed mine, but I was using way more advanced stuff then what I am telling you to do. Answer 4: Mine does. But then, like the author of Answer 3, I have also software-modified my Wii. Using software that has NOT been authorised by Nintendo (so-called 'homebrew' software) you can do all sorts of lovely things to your Wii, such as enable the DVD drive to play movies; change the region settings of your wii, stream avi / divx movies from your home PC to your TV using the Wii as a media center, backup your games to your PC, play games from an external HARD drive attached to your Wii (I seldom use disks these days) and use open source software. HOWEVER it takes a bit of research and know-how to figure each of these programs out. You need to download the correct software and get it onto a SD 'camera' memory card to initially 'break into' the Wii and get your programs to run. This afternoon I used 'any region changer' on my Wii. I can now play the Wii Virtual Console game "Mario Golf 64' on my wii at full speed (60Hz), despite the fact that the game has not being sold here in the UK. I also can play my NTSC imported gamecube games that have been stuck in my loft for a couple of years (my gamecube was an import from the USA) and my daughter enjoyed a bit of 'animal crossing' and 'luigi's mansion'. THE BIG BUT is that Nintendo do not want you running all sorts of non-licenced software on your Wii, so if DO start down this route, you had better disconnect your Wii from the Wiiconnect24 service, and also don't update the firmware on your Wii any more either! You wouldn't want any malicious attack from Nintendo over the internet turning your lovely Wii into am overpriced paperweight. answer 5 i agree with everything in the other answers except for unplug your internet from the wii if you also look up priiloader you can hack the wii to block all of nintendos updates through the net and by game disc!!. There are also lots of ways to download apps and files directly to your wii using homebrew browser and nus downloader. But you need to make sure you read the install guiudes before doing anything to the wii as ALL relevant hacks need to be enabled.
you can buy a second hand wii..........or in your dreams
UK PS2s use PAL format, US TVs use NTSC, which both have different frame rates. If you try to use the UK PS2 on a US TV, the image will flicker and jump around due to this disparity. While many UK TVs can switch to an NTSC mode, the opposite is rare in the US. But you can get a converter box which both devices plug into, you'd have to buy it online.
You can buy them on eBay
Yes, you can buy it from the Virtual Console on the Wii Shop Channel. It costs 1,000 Wii Points to download.
The short answer is no. The UK uses different AC voltage and plugs from the US, and also a different television system (PAL) from the US (NTSC). These are not compatible. (Television programs traded back and forth have to be converted, to be watched.)
No, you cannot. Europe uses PAL programming, while the US uses NTSC. Because the Wii is region-locked, the two are incompatible.
yes if your Xbox 360 is PAL then u have to buy PAL games
No, an NTSC telelvision will not display PAL signals properly. However, many modern telelvisions are multi standard and will show either PAL or NTSC signals. In these cases, using a PAL DVD output, for example, will work but note that there are potential problems with broadcast signals. Far fewer telelvisions have tuners built in that will work in multiple countries, so even if you have a multi-standard telelvision, you also need to confirm that you have a tuner capable of receiving broadcast signals from other countries, if you are planning on watching broadcast television.
You can buy DVD duplicators in the US that record dvds in PAL and NTSC. You can also buy TVs that allow the user to watch both PAL and NTSC. Most tv's, unless specified, will only view one or the other.
well as a matter of fact region zero is always better than goin for ntsc or pal because you can play all the DVD titles which may either be ntsc or pal support.. regardin price i think your DVD player has an option to convert it into region zero. so ensure that when you buy a DVD player its made REGION FREE that is region zero..
it was released in north America in August 25, 2008 i think it will never be released in Europe if you want to play it on your pal wii (European version wii), get a freeloader (eBay) for wii, then buy an ntsc (north American version) Mario super sluggers game disc (us eBay)
There is no problem with that, considering all Wii's are the same. There really isn't a such thing as an "Australia Wii" other than the fact that it is made in Australia. Just change the language, and nothing is different.
Very tough indeed. Not 100% reliable. Better buy your region games only. Also, make sure that if your Xbox is for eg: Ntsc-J, then mostly only Ntsc games will work. Same with Pal etc.
try ebay, but make sure they are youre region, eg pal, ntsc
NTSC Video Source. You would be able to buy it in PAL in Europe and, even maybe Secam in China
in the wii
