The best choice for Pokemon emerald is definitely torchic. as long as you catch lotad/seedot, teach it bullet seed. then you already beat the first gym. Combusken can easily demolish the second and third gyms. But if your concerned about the elite four, you wont have to worry. because you can just go catch rayquaza and him and blaziken will basically one hit ko everyone there with rayquaza's outrage and blaziken's overheat/blaze kick/ flamethrower. Treecko is just a really boring Pokemon that you wont have fun playing the game with. mudkip is just way to easy to beat the game with and plus it has no special attack (like blaziken's blaze kick or sceptile's leaf blade). so the obvious choice for starter is torchic. Just catch a grass, ice/electric, and dark Pokemon (seedot, snorunt/manetric, duskull.) GOOD LUCK :)
what he said except that i don not recommend teaching blaziken overheat. though it is strong it harshly lowers defense.

Sounds like how to beat ruby... Choose treeko. or chose one trde it and do that with all 3 and have em all.
You cant get a kanto starter on Pokemon sapphire but if you have Pokemon emerald then you complete the pokedex then you get a choice of starters from the johto region. I hope this helped.:)
Just cook PokeBlocks or goof. The choice is yours.
Swampert is a pretty good choice but if you chose a different starter then other good ones would be Milotic, Walrein, and maybe even Crawdaunt
well... you'll only have a larvitar as a starter pokemon because you do not any choice... it'll come to you and even give you a pokeball
Pokemon 152 is chikorita, unfortuntly to obtain one other then from heartgold/soulsilver, Is to beat Pokemon Emerald, all Pokemon cuaght, and then you go to prof. Birch and he'll give u the choice of the 3 jhoto starters

To get a Totodile in FireRed you must trade it over from Emerald version. To get the Totodile in Emerald you must first complete the Hoenn PokeDex and you will be given a choice of three Pokemon: Totodile, Cindiquil and Chikorita.
Which pokemon???? Charmander is normally a choice for a starter pokemon.

It is either Torterra or Blastoise. It depends on what version of Pokemon you are talking about. If you mean out of every version, then Charizard would be the best starter Pokemon to have.

Tepig is the best choice of starter for the game.Oshawott is the second best choice of starter for the game but will struggle against Nimbasa City Gym.Then Snivy will have a disadvantage since there are hardly any Pokemon that are easy to beat with grass type Pokemon.
unfortunately haunter isn't available on pokemon emerald. However if you want to capture ghost type pokemon, sableye's a good choice....you can also choose castform..
because he gives you a starter Pokemon of your choice
In Pokémon HeartGold, Professor Elm will give you a choice of Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile who will be your Starter Pokémon however during the game Professor Oak will give you a choice of Bulbasaur, Squirtle or Charmander which were the Starter Pokémon choices for Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, FireRed and LeafGreen. Steven Stone will also give you a choice of treeko, Mudkip or Torchic which were the choices Professor Birch gave you for Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
