You need to cut the little tree in the way, and then talk to the professor in the middle, which after som small talk, will give you the old amber, telling you to go check it. Then you need to go to Cinnabar Island, to the lowest left of the island, where the researchlab is. Go inside and then to the door on the farthest right. Talk to the proffesor in there - he will resurrect your Aerodactyl for you at lvl 5.
