1. Enter through the middle entrance to Mt. Mortar, don't go down the ladder.

2. Use surf.

3. Go up the waterfall.

4. You should find a cave entrance at the very back of the room, go into it.

5. There should be a guy up some stairs who's lost. Ignore him.

6. Turn to the far right, surf over the water. If you surf over the upper left pool of water you can find a Max Potion. But just keep Surfing past the ledges.

7. Jump down the ledge that stretches far. Don't keep jumping down, though.

8. Go to the left.

9. Surf north.

10. Go to the left.

11. Surf. You should see an item, it's an Escape Rope. Go between the two rocks and surf.

12. Go to the right for a while. Don't jump down any ledges. You should eventually see water and an item, an Elixir.

13. Surf to the ladder, go down the ladder.

14. Ignore the first two sets of steps, then go up the third one, then down on the other side. Follow the path to the right.

15. Go up the steps, then turn south. Follow the path again, then keep going for an item for go south straightaway, down the ladder.

16. Go down the first set of steps, then turn right. Go down the steps and there he is!
