A button named LT(Left Trigger) does not actually exist on a PS3 controller. The closest thing to LT is L2. It is the second button down on the left back side of the controller.
There isn't one. There are only the L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, and R3 buttons. The L1, L2, and R1, R2 buttons are on the top of the controller and the L3, R3 buttons are activated when you press down the analog sticks. This is usually indicated by a clicking noise.
The L1 button is the left 'shoulder' button. While the PSP doesn't technically have a L2, games that need it usually have it mapped to the PSP's analogue stick.
They're just buttons, similar to L2 and R2 on a PS3 controller. It depends on what game you're playing. Some games don't use it , some use it for changing weapons, melee attacks, etc. They aren't a "special button"
"L" would likely be the Left stick, however it's possible that it's the buttons on the top of the controller on the left side. Depends on the game, which one they're talking about. On the left: L1 is the top, L2 is the trigger like button below L1 and L3 is the stick (it pushes down).
