Tough question, however after personal research and communication with Sony this is what I've come up with.
Simple and quick, the "Fat" or original models have been assembled in China, but there are sub-assemblies that were prefabbed in Japan on launch date systems (CECHAXX CECHBXX). Many people claim that "the one assembled in Japan is better", well hate to break it to them they never have been assembled in Japan and only launch date systems even had Japanese prefabbed sub-assemblies (fan heatsink and RSX/Cell Motherboards). Even these systems were finally assembled in China.
These are the locations:
Sony EMCS - Japan This is where the PS3 was designed and in launch models where the fan, heatsink and motherboard was assembled
MAINTEK Computer - China This is where about oh say 100% of original 'Fat" PS3 systems are assembled
Foxconn - Taiwan - This is where the PS3 slims are assembled
Notice I use the word assembled, the parts are from all over the planet, even if you look at a launch PS3 the label on the bottom clearly says "Made in China" though the Motherboard/Fan/Heatsink may have been prefabbed in Japan
ps3,psp but you have to download them,ps2,and xbox ,xbox 360
They are called PS3 games because that is what they work on. The PS3 games are not forward compatible and do not work on PS1 or PS2 consoles or on the portable PSP or PSP GO. Some PS3 game titles have other versions with different software that allow them to be used on the other game consoles or the PC and those other versions of the Game Titles will not function on the PS3. None of the Games designated as PS3 will work on other game consoles because each console requires unique software in the game design. The fact that PS3 games are on Blu-ray discs is not the only reason they only perform on PS3 game consoles.
F1 2009 was only released for the PSP and not the PS3 see related link F1 2010 will be released September 24 2010 for the PS3 and other consoles see related link
