The Cold War during the 1960s.
Who ever said this awnser is wrong because black ops has battles in it and the cold war was just spying NO BATTLES.The only other war in the 1960s is the Vietnam War .(p.s one of the missions in black ops is in Vietnam)
no, because he was in the world war 2 and the black ops game is in the Vietnamese war so that's 25 years later. so by the he would have retired.
zombie mode is in black ops because of public demand. tryarch was to help make black ops and in world war tryarch made nazi zombies so when they made black ops they included it in
Ironically, Black Ops is based on the Cold War (a war that was not fought, but just caused other wars.). It is based on the black ops missions that were in the Cold War. Now because most of these are classified missions and the public don't know about them, that doesn't mean that all of the missions in the game actually happened.
COD 4: Modern Warfare COD 5: World At War COD 6: Modern Warfare II COD 7: Black Ops COD 8: Modern Warfare III COD 9: Iron Wolf And something about a Future Warfare, not sure bout that one. :)

No, its supposedly based on US cold war secret operations or black ops.
Call of Duty: World at War (COD 5) Call of Duty: Black Ops (COD 7)
cod black ops it had over 90million hits while all the other only hit around 456thousand and black ops is the most realist out of all the cod and has been prefected to modern war time today. lol jk. Definitely cod 4
I, personally, like Trey arch's Call of Duty: World at War, the most. It depends on what your looking for. As far as campaign, Black Ops. Multiplayer, Modern Warfare 2. Zombies, only World at War and Black Ops have it, but unless you have the other maps for World at War, Black Ops's zombies is much better. Overall: Black Ops.
Call of Duty World at War was the first COD game to have gore and bullets that paint the bodies of your enemies red. COD Black Ops will be like W@W in this regards but the violence will be more detailed.
