1. Who is dating who

2. Who likes who

3. Fights about to happen (false or not)

4. Out of jealousy

5. Ex-friends

6. Gossips

7. False accusations

8. Etc.

There are lots and lots of type of rumors, just depending on what the person who started the rumor is trying to point out.

If you heard some nasty ones being said about someone, you shouldn't pass it on. Just keep it to yourself, passing it on doesn't help.

Ask the person yourself if you are curious, and don't pass it on. It'll cause confusions and all sort of different conclusions. You wouldn't want to get caught up in a rumor or anything, it's pretty nasty, unless the rumor was a nice one.
