Answer: When I was young, we listened to the wireless (radio) or played records. We played Board Games and card games, my sister and I read stories aloud to improve our vocal presentation and reading skills. I learned the art of wax and soap carving whilst my sister learned to sew, knit and cook. Later, I made pocket money by selling wood carvings which I made in the yard from scrap lumber offcuts during the summer months. It was so easy to find something to occupy our time without getting into trouble that the days and the school holidays were never long enough.

Those, my friend, were the good old days
