yes. save a minecraft skin, any kind, then open up your minecraft.jar folder using winrar. after this go to mob then there should be a file called char.png, open up your saved minecraft skin and rename it char (just char). then (while having both side to side) drag your new minecraf skin and drop it into the mob folder. check your minecraft after. hope this helped.

There are also really cool mods and texture packs (change the blocks and items) you can download to add to the game that will allow you to do/have much more things than you could,like mo' creatures (adds more animals) and stuff.
