It can go on the game that you insert in it, it can go on a chat program called picto chat and it can go onto the settings of the system. But the DSI has more features. you can go to the settings, you can go on your game, you can go on the camera where you can take pictures, you can go on sound where you can record a noise for ten seconds and mess around with it, you can go on the internet (if you have wifi) and finally you can go on picto chat. P.S the DS lite, the DSI and the DSI XL take the same games

You can pictochat up to 65 feet away from one another. It goes this far on DS, DS Lite, and DSI. Not 3DS. Wich sucks. Ihave a 3DS and cant pictochat,but Can communicate with SWAPNOTE!

yes the dsi can video chat but you need a speical wifi thing that hooks up to your tv

you just have to have a dsi and you click on the penciltwo times and then you can write with rainbow .Totally cool!

a ds has a slot for a ds game and a slot for a game boy game a dsi has the same things but more it has internet, 2 camras, u can recoud your self, doodle on a pic and you can move a little square around and it makes what ever u recorded high pitched low pitched, fast and slow ect... the other difference i can think of is u can picto chat picto chat is when u go to a friend with a ds or a dsi and u turn on your ds or dsi and click on picto chat and u have to be right next to them and u can draw pics and write words with your stenciel or finger
