What is the esiest way to catch azelf in Pokemon diamond?

Firstly, you have to whittle the Pokemon's health down to the red zone. This can be done by either using a weak attack on it many times or using a move like False Swipe, leaving the target with 1hp. Then give it a status problem. Don't use Poison or Burn, it will reduce the target to a faint. Sleep and Freeze is the best when it comes to catching the Pokemon, but they may thaw out or wake up. Paralysis is the best option here. It cuts the foe's speed, stops it from moving and does not self heal.

When you have brung the target to the point of near fainting, start shelling out those PokeBalls. Have an 'attack cushion' Pokemon in battle so you won't have to keep switching party Pokemon when they faint (I used my Empoleon against Cresellia-it was resistant to all of her attacks). Stalling is good here, as it allows better use of Timer balls but don't stall too long, or the foe will run out of PP, use struggle and faint upon recoil. Start with weak pokeballs, it doesnt matter if they bust straight out. Then, every 10 or so turns 'surprise' it by using either a Dusk or Timer ball. If it doesn't work, switch to the weak ones and try again. You could also try firing good pokeballs at it one after the other, but I think it develops a sort o resistance to it after a while. (one of my friends kept chucking Dusk Balls at a Giratina, then he ran out. he then hopelessly used a regular PokeBall, and it was caught!!!!) Patience is everything. Only restart if you have run out of PokeBalls, or the opponent faints. However there is a much simpler way....

Use a Masterball. It's genius!!! :-D

Shadow Arceus: yep i too captured Giratina with a pokeball =D i ran out of every thing but when i used a surprise pokeball it was captured becose the Pokemon if you keep using the same pokeball it will become more resistent to that tipe of pokeball or as in nature he adapts so i suggest that keep using pokeballs until you ran out use a timer ball and look at the magic =D i have captured almost all legendery's this way from including the first generation i have almost all Pokemon including mew but i can't transfer it to platinum =( becose it's on yellow still i try searching alternate way's to capture event pokemons like arceus i always search for glitches =P like in my videos if you have seen me(OriginalShadowZero)
