Guitar Hero World Tour came out about a year before Guitar Hero 5. Guitar Hero 5 is more recent and incorporates newer things like Hammer-On-Chords and a completely new songlist. It also has a different career-format and allows the player to play a numerous amount of songs before even playing the career, unlike most Guitar Heros where you have to unlock songs.

Yes. Guitar Hero: World Tour is compatible with all USB microphones, but the in game tutorial suggests that the GH Mic is the best, but what difference does it make?
The only difference is that the song are different.
They are two different games. Decades is a follow-up to On Tour. For example, GH 2 came as one to GH1.
The difference is that, with Guitar hero 3 you only have a guitar to play. But with Guitar Hero World Tour you can play lead guitar, bass drums and vocals. You also (depending which console you use) have the option of buying additional songs to play and sing to. You also have the ability to play online to form a complete band, even if you only have a guitar yourself. All of this coupled with a far better designed and ergonomic guitar makes "World Tour" a better game by far
It depends. Harmonix created Guitar Hero 1, 2, and 80's. RedOctane/Activision created Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: World Tour. You can tell the difference by the graphics pretty much.
Guitar Hero World Tour is Guitar Hero 4.
Different songs, graphics, Hammer-on/Pull-off system, and the slider notes work better in Guitar Hero 5.
Guitar hero World tour is called Guitar Hero World Tour because you go around the world in your concerts.
Guitar Hero 5 is more into Rock and Metal and Band Hero is more into Pop. Differences in the gameplay is that, if you choose a singer, and the song has the opposite gender, it will choose a generic character of that gender.
Guitar Hero 2.
