What is the best fire type Pokemon to catch in Pokemon emerald?

You have quite a couple choices here. Blaziken with it's unique Fire and Fighting combination (For that generation, anyhow) is a great choice, and effective against many enemies and Sydney, Glacia, and Steven. Camerupt has Fire and Ground typing, which is also unique, that packs a huge punch and does well against many other Pokemon. Then you have Ninetales, who is a pure Fire type. It has high special attack so attacks such as Flamethrower and Overheat do quite well. It also has some good status inflicting moves such as Will-O-Wisp and Confuse Ray. Torkoal has a high Defense stat and also an average Special Attack, Attack, and Special Defense stat. You can build him up to be a tank, and a hard hitting one too, as many people are stuck on the gym leader Flannery because of this. Lastly there's Magcargo. This has Fire and Rock typing, who besides this and some different moves, is pretty much outclassed by Torkoal in terms of stats. Hope this helped.
