I used fire Pokemon ( charizard) since most of the wild Pokemon are grass and electric.
I also use a rhydon with lightning rod since he beats electrics and can help charizard cover some of it's weakness. My third Pokemon was evee with runaway just so i wouldn't have to fight so many wild Pokemon.
